See notes under her second husband.
Marij, also known as Marijtjen, married first Garbrandt Cornelisz. from Kijfsteiger, Enkhuizen on Jan 17 1696. She was from Bolwerk at the time; she may have been working as a maid there as there is no other “Gabriel” or “Gabriels” from Bolwerk. They don't appear to have had any children.
Marijtjen acted as a baptism witness to many of her grandchildren.
A note on Jan Bastiaens’ and Marij Gabriels’ marriage record says “The bride was married earlier. The marriage was “closed” by Rev. Cramer.” The name of their daughter Sabine confirms that this record is referring to Marij Gabriels van Dapel (her mother was named Sabina).
A Marijtje Gabriels also married Andries Christiaensz from Zuider Boerenvaart on December 14, 1692. She was from Harkesteiger – where Gabriel Jansz van der Slijck and Grietjen Maartens were from. This couple had 2 children in the mid 1670’s, including Martha (probably this Marijtje). So there must have been 2 Marij Gabriels at this time.[1]
